“Hashim 40”... champion of the “Al Bwanish Sailing Race”.

Abu Dhabi, October 8, 2023: Hashim 40, owned by His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, driven by Nokhatha Hassan Abdullah Al Marzouqi, won the title of the second round of the Al Bwanish Sailing Race, which was organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club yesterday, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors.
The inaugural race for traditional sailing boats was held over a distance of 7 nautical miles, with the participation of 60 banishes, who sailed from the heights of Masoa Island towards the flagpole to the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club on the Breakwater Corniche, where the top three place holders were crowned.
“Nimran 39” won second place, driven by the owner and Nokhadha Omar Abdullah Al Marzouqi, and “Zelzal 63”, driven by the owner and Nokhadha Mohammed Marwan Al Marzouqi, ranked third.
"Decisive Storm" came in fourth place, led by the owner and Nokhadha Abdullah Marwan Abdullah Al Marzouqi. Fifth place went to "Murban," owned by Ibrahim Ismail Al Marzouqi and led by Nokhatha Zayed Abdullah Ali Al Hosani, and sixth place was won by "The Squadron", led by the owner and Nokhadha Al Hur Rashid Khadem. Al Muhairi, while “Moazam”, owned by Ahmed Ismail Ahmed Al Marzouqi and led by Nokhatha Zayed Abdullah Ali Ghareeb Al Hosani, won seventh place.
"Zafan", owned by Muhammad Ali Yousef Al-Bishr and led by Nokhadha Yousef Ali Yousef Al-Bisher, won an eighth place, "Toofan", owned by Hamad Rashid Mohammed Rashid Al Rumaithi, and driven by Nokhatha Ahmed Ismail Ahmed Al Marzouqi, won a ninth place, and "Oqab" led by owner and Nokhatha Abdullah Bilal Al Noubi—tenth place.
The winners were honored by Saeed Humaid Al Muhairi, Head of the Club’s Maintenance and Technical Support Department, Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Head of the Heritage Racing Department, and Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy.
Majid Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director of the Marine Sports Department, appreciated Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan’s sponsorship of the season-opening race and his great attention to heritage activities, events, and races.
He added: "The great competition between the boats demonstrated the good preparation of all participants, the comprehensive readiness for the challenge, the high spirit, and the desire to reach the finish line first to win the crown, and this is what added to the event a high artistic value."
