5 million dirhams in prizes for the “Al Yasat Festival” in the Al Dhafra region

Emirates, Abu Dhabi, November 8, 2023: Al Yasat Festival will be launched during the period from 15 to 19 November this year in the Commodities City in the Al Dhafra region, with a total of prizes amounting to about 5 million dirhams, organized by the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club. The festival's organizing committee announced the details of the first session during the press conference held yesterday morning at the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in the presence of a number of media representatives, speakers, and athletes participating in the festival.
Zayed Sari Al Mazrouei, Head of the Events Department at the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi, said during his speech at the press conference that the Al Yasat Festival includes many events and competitions held on the beach of Al Sila City in the Al Dhafra region, and offers many marine, sports, heritage and modern competitions and events. Various activities enhance the role of heritage in preserving national identity and provide the people of Al Sila in the Al Dhafra region with many community and recreational activities aimed at different age groups.
Al Mazrouei pointed out that the festival’s organizing committee allocated 338 prizes distributed over 20 competitions, and among the most prominent races are the “Al Yasat Race for 60-foot sailboats,” the Al-Qafai Race for 22-foot sailboats, the Commodity Race for modern sailing boats (regatta), the Carrom Competition (men, Women), stand-up paddleboarding (1km under 16 and 2km over 16 categories), domino competition (men, women), beach volleyball tournament, beach soccer tournament (senior, junior), running competition (senior, junior) Fishing competition, the most beautiful traditional costume competition, cooking competitions, tourism championship (adults and children), bicycle racing.
Zayed Al Mazrouei thanked the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for hosting the festival’s press conference and its efforts to support sports, especially marine sports.
