The “Zayed Al Bwanish Sailing Festival” race begins Friday in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, November 21, 2023: The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club announced that the Sheikh Zayed Al Bwanish Sailing Festival race will start next Friday in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
The race starts from the top of Lulu Island for a distance of 7 nautical miles, and concludes at the club’s headquarters on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, with the participation of more than 50 boats.
Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Head of the Heritage Races Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, confirmed that the race enhances interest in heritage activities, amid expectations of large participation from sailors and sailors, especially since the “Al Bwanish Sailing” enjoys a large and distinguished presence.
He explained that the club seeks to organize several races for different categories bearing the name of the Sheikh Zayed Festival during the current season, as part of the upcoming marine goods festival, noting that registration is open until the day after tomorrow, Thursday, that is, 24 hours before the start of the race.
He added: "We are keen to hold marine and heritage races, and various traditional and modern activities throughout the season, and the Sheikh Zayed Al Bwanish Sailing Festival race represents a 'beautiful painting' of the heritage paintings and races offered by the club."
