Under the patronage of Hamdan bin Zayed...the launch of the third session of the Al Sila' Festival, December 6.

Abu Dhabi, November 16, 2023: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the activities of the third session of the Al Sila' Festival will be held from December 6 to 10, 2023 on the shore of Commodity City in the Al Dhafra Region, organized by a management committee. Cultural and heritage festivals and programs in Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in cooperation with the Emirates Heritage Club.

The festival includes a variety of traditional and modern marine competitions, sports, and beach competitions, as it witnesses the Al Sila' race for 43-foot sailboats, the Baraka race for sailboats, the fishing competition, the carrom and domino competitions, the bicycle race, beach volleyball, and beach soccer. There are also several traditional competitions and popular games.

The Al Sila' Festival will host the first edition of the Al Dhafra Grand Kingfishing Championship for men and women, which is called the “Al Mughira Championship,” and will be held from December 7 to 10, 2023.

The festival includes a popular market with some diverse stores for productive families and emerging projects that display heritage products and popular foods, in addition to pavilions for supporting, sponsoring, and participating entities, the Noukhadha Majlis, folk arts performances in the events arena, and many other events.

The Al Sila' Festival aims to preserve the marine and land heritage of the UAE, shed light on Emirati heritage and crafts and pass them on to future generations, promote coastal cities and UAE islands and marine festivals, support marine and heritage sports and encourage their practice, and support tourism and economic development in the Al Dhafra region.
