Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra, December 11, 2023: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the activities and competitions of the Sea Goods Festival in its third session concluded today, which lasted for 5 days during the period from 6 to 10 December on the beach of the Goods City in the Al Dhafra region. Al Dhafra is organized by the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee in Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in cooperation with the Emirates Heritage Club.

The third session witnessed the participation of 5,560 participants in its various marine heritage, sports, and beach competitions, for which cash prizes worth approximately 4 million and 500 thousand dirhams were allocated.

The competitions included the goods race for 43-foot sailboats, the Baraka race for sailing boats, the Shaari fishing competition, the Hadad Championship, the carrom and domino competitions, bicycle racing, beach volleyball, and beach soccer, in addition to several traditional competitions and popular games.

The festival's popular market received 24,870 visitors who enjoyed what was displayed during the various stores of productive families and emerging projects of heritage products and popular foods, in addition to the pavilions of the supporting, sponsoring, and participating entities, the Noukhatha Majlis, and folk arts performances in the events arena, and artistic and singing concerts and performances by the Abu Dhabi Folk Arts Troupe. Fireworks, maritime heritage displays, and many distinctive events.

The organizing committee honored the sponsors, supporters, and participants, “Partners of Success”, in confirmation of their role and position in supporting the festival’s activities and competitions, which attracted marine, heritage, and beach sports enthusiasts, in the presence of representatives of the Abu Dhabi Police General Command - Al Dhafra Police Directorate, Al Dhafra Region Municipality - Al Sila' Municipal Presence Center, Al Dhafra Hospitals, Saif Bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences.
