UAE, AbuDhabi 12 December 2023: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the Al Silaa Marine Festival in Al Dhafra wrapped up its third edition after five days of exciting activities from December 6th to 10th. Organized by the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee in Abu Dhabi, along with partners like the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and the Emirates Heritage Club, the festival saw 5,560 participants across various marine heritage races, sports, and beach competitions with a hefty cash prize pool of around 4.5 million dirhams rewarded their skills.
The event offered a diverse lineup of activities, from sailboat races to fishing competitions and traditional games. The bustling market attracted nearly 25,000 visitors, showcasing products from local families and emerging projects. The festival also featured folk arts performances, concerts by the Abu Dhabi Folk Arts Troupe, fireworks, and maritime heritage displays.
The organizing committee honored sponsors, supporters, and participants for their pivotal role in making the festival successful. Notables from key organizations like the Abu Dhabi Police and Al Dhafra Hospitals attended, highlighting the event's significance.
