The UAE Motosurf Championship starts next Saturday

Abu Dhabi, January 23, 2024: Next Saturday, the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club will organize the UAE Motosurf Championship competitions, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors.

The Championship will be held within the activities of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival, whose program includes 15 tournaments, activities, and events, including traditional and modern tournaments and various marine activities. The festival targets 6,000 participants in its activities that are held on the breakwater in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE Motosurf Championship competitions include five categories: Rockies, Ladies, Junior, Challenger, and Master. Registration processes via the club’s website witnessed great interaction from competitors to participate in the event, with more than 40 competitors expected to be present.
The competitions are held in two stages, the first in the morning and the second in the evening, to provide the appropriate time space for holding all competitions, in all categories, while giving the contestants an appropriate period to arrange participation procedures.
Motosurf competitions attract elite racers from the Emirates and residents, from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and from abroad, and receive great interest from marine clubs and centers.
Nasser Al Dhaheri, Head of the Modern Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, praised the diversity of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival activities through organizing traditional and modern heritage activities, tournaments, and competitions, in a way that blends the nobility of the past with the sophistication of the present, and enhances giving participants a complete picture of the value and objectives of the festival.
He said that the festival constitutes an exceptional gathering presented by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club for fans of traditional sports, and those interested in modern sports, in tournaments, activities, and events that meet the desires of everyone, and it constitutes a state of positive interaction for athletes to present their best during competitions.

He explained that the club seeks to attract the largest number of participants, as the atmosphere is ideal for holding a marine sports championship, expressing his hope that there will be 6,000 participants in the festival, which is the target number according to the strategic planning of the event.
He added that motorcycling is a modern sport that is popular with young people, and all the tournaments that were held witnessed large participation, remarkable progress in technical levels, and an increase in the number of competitors, hoping to increase the interest of the people of the Emirates in practicing this sport and to follow in the path of its international champions.
