Tomorrow...the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi Grand Kingfishing Championship

Abu Dhabi, January 26, 2024: The Abu Dhabi Grand Kingfishing Championship, which is being held within the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival, will conclude tomorrow, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club organizes the festival over 11 days and includes 15 tournaments and multiple accompanying events targeting 6,000 participants.
On the closing day tomorrow, the weights of the fish caught by the participants will be determined, and the final results will be announced, with the first place winners being crowned, after 3 days of competition in a kingfish fishing trip with the participation of more than 500 boats and canoes.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Kingfishing Championship opened the activities of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival, followed by various activities, according to the approved program, which includes traditional and heritage tournaments and races, and others for modern marine sports.
Majid Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director of the Marine Sports Department, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, praised the great demand for participation in the Abu Dhabi Grand Kingfishing Championship, at the opening of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival, because of the special nature of kingfish fishing during its fishing season in Abu Dhabi.
He added: "At the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, we are keen to organize heritage activities to allow new generations to learn about the details of the heritage of our fathers and grandfathers, strengthen efforts aimed at preserving it, and devote a culture of connection to it in all fields."
