Abu Dhabi, January 28, 2024: More than 40 competitors participated in 5 categories in the UAE Motosurf Championship competitions, which were organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club yesterday on the waters of the Breakwater Corniche in Abu Dhabi, as part of the activities and competitions of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival.
The festival, which is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, witnesses the organization of 15 tournaments, events, heritage and modern races, and various marine activities.
Competitors from Kuwait and the Czech Republic won the first three places in the “Master” category, with Czech Alex Luxhelder topping the competition, his compatriot Mathias came second, and Kuwaiti Hammad Al-Haddad third.
In the "Junior" category, first place went to Kuwaiti Fares Ramadan, second came his compatriot Hammad Al-Haddad, and Czech Denis Kulish came third.
Kuwaitis dominated the first three places in the Challenger category, Fares Ramadan won first place, Hassan Bu Abbas came second, and Mubarak Al-Fadil came third.
Kenyan Diane Nicholas topped the "Rockies" category, Obaid Mohammed Al Hameli came second, Ali Saeed Al Himairi came third, Czech Linda Luxhelder won first place in the women's category, Bulgarian Anna Shiltova came second, and Czech Martina Luxhelder came third.
Majid Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director of the Marine Sports Department at the club, crowned the winners, praising the strong competition among the contestants for the first place, in addition to the ideal atmosphere and professional organization of the competitions.
He added: Despite the newness of this sport, it is receiving new attention from its practitioners, through their keenness to participate in all tournaments, which has attracted many competitors to take part in its challenges.
He explained that the events, tournaments, and activities of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival achieved great participation from fans of traditional and modern marine sports and provided them with the opportunity to interact with their hobbies in a competitive atmosphere and spread a good positive spirit that leads to achieving the goals and message of the festival distinctively.
