Tomorrow: the launch of the UAE Aquabike and Flyboard Championships

Abu Dhabi, February 2, 2024: The UAE Aquabike and Flyboard Championships, organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, will start tomorrow, Saturday, on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, as part of the activities of the Abu Dhabi Marine Festival, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors.
The festival, which began on January 25 and concludes the day after tomorrow, Sunday, includes many traditional and modern tournaments, activities and events.
The UAE Jet Ski Championship competitions include 11 categories, namely Veterans GP2, Junior Standing GP 3.3, Junior Standing GP 3.2, Junior Standing GP 3.1, Freestyle, Standing GP2, Standing GP1, and Sitting GP. 4 SPARK, GALS GP3, GALS GP2, GALS GP1.
The competitions are held in two periods, in the morning for rounds of different categories, and in the evening for free show.
The registration process witnessed a large turnout by clubs, academies, and individual participation from inside and outside the country, with the number exceeding 70 contestants, from the stars of the Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, in addition to contestants from European countries, most notably Britain, and Asian countries and South America.
The Flyboard Championship attracts many contestants who compete to present the best demonstrations with great skill. Each contestant is given a period to present his presentation, according to the required standards, for the team of judges to award a grade evaluation on what he presented, and issue the final results.
Nasser Al Dhaheri, Head of the Club’s Modern Sports Department, confirmed that the various modern sports competitions held in the country have increased in popularity and the number of participants has increased.
He said that the UAE Jet Ski Championship is an ancient competition that introduced many UAE champions to the world, through excellence in local tournaments to advance to international championships, and Rashid Al Mulla, the world freestyle champion, is an example to be emulated in this sport.
