“Al Shaqi 96” wins the “Al Nouf Sailing Bearings Race” in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, February 10, 2024: The “Al-Shaqi 96” bearing, owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and led by Al Nokhatha Khalaf Butti bin Ghasheesh Al Marri, won the title of the Al Nouf Sailing Bearings Race, 43-foot category, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Club. The Navy, today, Saturday, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region.
“Nimran 259” came in second place, owned by Nokhatha Omar Abdullah Muhammad Al Marzouqi, and “Al Aryam” came in third place, owned by Nokhatha Ahmed Salem Ahmed Al Hammadi.
More than 100 loaders participated in the race, and it started from the East Saadiyat region for a distance of 18 nautical miles, towards the finish line in front of the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club on the capital’s Corniche. It witnessed strong competition from the starting point until the finish line, as the front loaders exchanged the lead in the various stages.
The winners were honored by Majid Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director of the Marine Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Head of the Club’s Heritage Racing Department, and Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Head of the Club’s Academy Department.
Majid Ateeq Al Muhairi appreciated the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, for the race, praising His Highness's support for heritage races, which encourages sailor owners and pilots to participate in the races.
Al Muhairi said: We at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club are happy to organize any race for traditional boats and boats, because its atmosphere calls for the nobility of the past of our ancestors and fathers, and gives us the feeling that we are living in that atmosphere filled with deep meanings of courage, strength, responsibility, and the value of teamwork that leads to success in going to sea.
