Al Hamriyah leads the final round of the UAE Modern Rowing Championship

Abu Dhabi On May 12, 2024, Abu Dhabi witnessed the grand finale of the Emirates Modern Rowing Championship, a prestigious event organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club. Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club, 70 competitors showcased their skills on the "Water Breaker".

The final round was not just about fierce competition but also inclusivity, with a special kayaking race for people of determination. Al Hamriyah Club emerged as a dominant force, securing top positions in various categories. Nasser Suleiman Al-Mahri and Ibrahim Al-Maraghi clinched the first spot in the doubles competition for People of Determination, while Saleh Fahd Hatroush excelled in the singles category.

The under-18 modern rowing individual category saw a stellar performance by Al Hamriyah Club, with Sultan Ahmed Al Shamsi, Hamad Amer Al Shamsi, and Zayed Saif Al Alili claiming the top three places. Marissa Crowther and Christy McKenzie from Abu Dhabi Club shone in the junior women's doubles category, while Ibrahim Maraghi stood out in the singles category.

The club's dominance extended to various age groups and categories, with achievements in junior doubles, women's singles, men's doubles, girls' singles, and more. The winners were rightfully honored by Salem Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, and Nasser Al Dhaheri, Head of the Modern Racing Department.

The event not only celebrated the spirit of competition but also highlighted the talent and dedication of the participants. Abu Dhabi once again proved to be a hub of sporting excellence, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among athletes of all abilities.
