"Setting Sail for History: Dalma Race Sailboats to Depart for Dalma Island Tomorrow"

Abu Dhabi, Dalma On May 20, 2024: Sailboats in the 60-foot class are gearing up for the seventh Delma Historic Race at Delma Island. This event, a highlight of the Delma Historical Festival, is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority. As the teams finalize preparations, they are expected to set off on the Senyar journey from Dalma Island to Al Mughira Beach in Al Dhafra. The intricate logistical arrangements and strict adherence to regulations ensure the race's success.

The Delma Historic Race covers a challenging 80 nautical miles, with substantial prizes totaling 30 million dirhams for the winners. Majid Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director of the Marine Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, commended the organizing committee's efforts in welcoming participants and sailboats, underscoring their commitment to a seamless execution. The ideal weather conditions, meticulously monitored in collaboration with the National Center of Meteorology, will set the stage for this prestigious maritime event.

With 122 registered sailboats across the Emirates, the upcoming race promises to be a thrilling display of skill and sportsmanship, underscoring the region's rich maritime heritage.
