Shanghai, October 7, 2024: Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Marine Sports Federation, praised the outstanding results achieved by UAE teams in the Formula 1 World Championship held in Shanghai, China, highlighting the raising of the UAE flag at international events. He noted that these victories reflect the progress of marine sports in the UAE and the ability to compete at the highest global levels.

He emphasized that securing top positions in international championships is not just about winning; it is a testament to the excellence and professionalism that characterize UAE teams, contributing to enhancing the UAE's standing in the world of marine sports.

The Sharjah 17 boat, led by Rusty White, won the fourth round of the Formula 1 World Championship today in Shanghai, while the Victory 4 boat, helmed by Erik Stark, took second place.

The Sharjah 17 boat now leads the overall standings with 87 points, followed by the Victory 4 in second place with 69.5 points, and third is Swedish driver Jonas Andersson with 69 points.

The race consisted of only 11 laps due to high waves and winds, and half points were awarded for this round.

The fifth round of the competition will take place in the city of Zhengzhou, China, on October 8 and 9, while the championship will conclude with the sixth round in December in Sharjah.
