The conclusion of the UAE Water Skiing Championship in Abu Dhabi with massive international participation

Abu Dhabi, November 25, 2024: Yesterday, the UAE Water Skiing Championship's first round concluded at the Breakwater in Abu Dhabi. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, the championship featured thrilling competitions among top local and international athletes who delivered exceptional performances across various categories. The event attracted a significant audience and vibrant atmosphere, with around 86 competitors from 23 countries participating.
In the Open Men category, Greek athlete Tomadis Akylos claimed first place with an outstanding performance that showcased his dominance in this category. Meanwhile, in the Open Women category, his compatriot Andri Polo Akita Tanini secured first place with a remarkable display.
In the Intermediate Men - Wakeboard category, Emirati Sultan Saif Al Nuaimi earned first place, reflecting the UAE’s excellence in the sport. In the Beginner Men category, Emirati Ali Al Mazrouei took first place, while Polish athlete Barbara Gratrovska claimed first in the Beginner Women category.
In the juniors' competitions, Australian athlete Kobe Walsh won first place in the Under 14 Boys category, while his compatriot Lihi Advo shined in the Under 14 Girls category, securing the top spot.
In the Open Skim Men category, Russian Semen Kalatchki delivered an impressive performance to claim first place, while Kazakh athlete An Ibragimova excelled to win the Open Skim Women category.
In the Open Wake Surf Men category, Demetrios Vatsis Milionan took first place with a strong performance, while Russian Ludmila Biltlaskaya claimed first place in the Open Wake Surf Women category.
In the Skim Men category, Spanish athlete Gabriel Zakaryan secured first place, and Russian athlete Meriem Aptkalova earned the top spot in the Skim Women category. In the Wake Surf Men category, Greek athlete Akylos Tomadis clinched first place with an extraordinary performance.
On this occasion, Nasser Al Dhaheri, Acting Director of the Marine Sports Division at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, expressed pride in the success of the championship. He stated: “The UAE Water Skiing Championship has become a remarkable platform for local and international athletes to showcase their talents in this distinguished sport. We are proud of the outstanding organization of this first round and always strive to strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as a leading destination for hosting global sports championships.”
Al Dhaheri also thanked all participants, organizers, and attendees for supporting the sport and added: "We look forward to more successes in the upcoming rounds."
