"Aryala Dhow Sailing Race" Set to Launch on January 25

Abu Dhabi, January 21, 2024 – Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has announced the organization of the "Aryala Dhow Sailing Race" for the 60-ft traditional dhow category on January 25, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region.

In an official statement, the club confirmed that January 26 has been set as a reserve date, depending on weather conditions. The event is part of the ongoing heritage sports season, which features races across all dhow sailing categories, with more than 90 dhows participating, each carrying 20 sailors on board.

Race Details and Prize Distribution

The third round of the 60-ft dhow sailing series will cover a distance of 28 nautical miles, starting from Khalifa Portand finishing at the Flagpole on Abu Dhabi Corniche, where the winners will be crowned in a special awards ceremony.

To celebrate the champions, three luxury cars have been allocated as prizes for the top three finishers, making this competition even more thrilling for participants and spectators alike.
