Al Dhafra, February 18, 2025 – Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has announced the Para-Kayak Race for People of Determination, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, as part of the 16th edition of the Al Dhafra Marine Festival. The race is organized in collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, as part of ongoing efforts to support and empower People of Determination in sports activities.

The Al Dhafra Marine Festival, which runs from February 14 to 23 at Al Mugheirah Beach, is jointly organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.

Race Categories and Competition Format

The Para-Kayak Race will feature three main categories:

• 100-meter Solo Kayak
• 100-meter Doubles Kayak
• Beach Kayak Race, which combines running and kayaking

Promoting Inclusion in Marine Sports

Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Head of the Academy at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, emphasized the importance of this competition in encouraging the participation of People of Determination in marine sports. He highlighted the club’s commitment to providing a comprehensive sporting experience that promotes inclusion and skill development.

He also expressed pride in organizing this event in collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organization, which plays a key role in supporting People of Determination.

"Our goal is to promote marine sports for all, ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to enjoy the spirit of challenge and competition," Al Suwaidi stated.
