Team Abu Dhabi Leaves Nothing to Chance: Precise Adjustments Ahead of Season Kickoff

14/05/2025
San Nazzaro, Italy – May 14, 2025: Team Abu Dhabi Powerboats continues its intensive preparations in San Nazzaro, Italy, as part of a precise training camp led by technical director Guido Cappellini. This comes ahead of the opening round of the F1H2O World Championship scheduled for August on Lake Toba, Indonesia.
Reflecting the team’s commitment to meticulous detail, a professional adjustment was made to the cockpit seat of veteran Emirati driver Thani Al Qamzi’s boat (No. 5). This modification was based on Al Qamzi’s feedback to enhance comfort and stability during sharp turns and high-speed sections.
The new seat was designed and manufactured in the team’s factory in Italy, under Cappellini’s direct supervision, with the expertise of specialized Italian technicians. High-quality materials and precise engineering measurements tailored specifically to the demands of Formula 1 powerboat racing were used.
Thani Al Qamzi shared his impressions after testing the new seat:
“The result was outstanding. I feel much more comfortable and stable inside the boat, which boosts my confidence and concentration while driving. I thank the technical team and Guido Cappellini for their great attention to these details.”
Guido Cappellini added:
“At Team Abu Dhabi, we leave nothing to chance. The seat is the primary interface between the driver and the boat, and perfecting it makes a real difference in performance. We are working to ensure full readiness before the season starts.”
This update is part of a series of technical improvements taking place during the training camp, which also includes propeller testing, boat setup adjustments, and performance development for drivers Thani Al Qamzi and Erik Stark (boat No. 6), in preparation for a challenging upcoming season.
