Team Abu Dhabi Concludes Training in Italy, Full of Ambition for a Season of Achievements

San Nazzaro, Italy – May 15, 2025: Team Abu Dhabi has concluded its intensive training camp in San Nazzaro, Italy, after two days of precise technical trials and comprehensive evaluations led by world-renowned Technical Director Guido Cappellini. The camp comes as part of the team’s preparations for the opening round of the F1H2O World Championship, scheduled for August at Lake Toba, Indonesia.

During the camp, drivers Thani Al Qemzi (boat No. 5) and Erik Stark (boat No. 6) underwent rigorous performance testing, which included trying different propeller types, refining steering setups, and reviewing technical details related to starts and turns.

Swedish driver Erik Stark recorded an impressive time, finishing two seconds faster than teammate Al Qemzi—an early sign of strong readiness and rapid responsiveness of his boat. Meanwhile, Al Qemzi praised his newly designed driver’s seat—manufactured in the team’s own workshop in Italy—for significantly enhancing his stability and focus during races.

Guido Cappellini expressed full satisfaction with the camp’s results, stating:
“I’m very pleased with our performance during the camp. We carried out intense training and focused on every detail to ensure full readiness and a strong season start. Both drivers showed great commitment, and the boats responded to technical adjustments as expected—with improved speed and performance stability. We now shift to mental and logistical preparations for the next stage.”

As the camp concluded, the team initiated early shipping procedures to send the boats to Indonesia, ensuring they arrive on time and are fully prepared for the opening race of the season.

Team Abu Dhabi enters the 2025 season with high aspirations, powered by the experience of Al Qemzi, the youthful energy of Stark, and world-class technical oversight—all aimed at reclaiming global dominance and adding another milestone to the UAE’s proud record in marine motorsport.
