"Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team" to participate in 4 World Championships

Abu Dhabi, 20 June 2025: The Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team, under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, is gearing up for a season full of international participation in summer 2025, proudly representing Emirati sports on the global stage. This comes in line with the vision and support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Club, aimed at reinforcing the UAE’s presence in major international sporting events.

The team is set to compete in four world championships: the Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship, the Formula 2 World Championship, the Formula 4 World Championship, and the Jet Ski World Championship. These participations will span across 16 cities worldwide.

The season kicks off with the opening round of the Formula 2 World Championship in Brindisi, Italy, from June 27 to 29. Reigning world champion Rashed Al Qemzi will defend his title with support from teammate Mansoor Al Mansoori. Meanwhile, in the Freestyle category of the Jet Ski Championship, Rashed Al Mulla—last season’s world titleholder—will compete in three international rounds.

The Formula 1 team will take on five decisive rounds, led by Thani Al Qemzi, joined by Swedish driver Erik Stark, the latest addition to the team.

As part of the club’s strategy to nurture national talents, Salem Al Yafei will represent Team Abu Dhabi in two rounds of the Formula 4 Championship, supporting the development of young champions in marine sports.
