Abu Dhabi Team Kicks Off Formula 2 World Championship Campaign in Brindisi with Eyes on Sixth World Title

Brindisi, Italy – 23 June 2025 : All eyes in the world of powerboat racing are on the Italian city of Brindisi this week, as it hosts the opening round of the UIM F2 World Championship from 27 to 29 June 2025. Among the top contenders is the Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team, entering the competition with high ambitions to capture its sixth world title in the Formula 2 category—adding yet another achievement to its decorated legacy.

The team will field two boats in this high-stakes competition, combining experience, skill, and ambition. Leading the charge in boat #1 is five-time world champion and defending titleholder Rashed Al Qemzi, who aims to retain his crown following a dominant 2024 season. Alongside him, rising star Mansoor Al Mansoori takes the helm of boat #36, ready to make a strong impression and compete among the world’s elite.

The Brindisi round marks a crucial starting point in what is expected to be one of the most competitive seasons in recent memory, featuring elite teams and top-tier drivers from around the world.

Team Abu Dhabi heads into the championship well-prepared, following an intensive preseason campaign and under the continued support of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, led by H.H. Following Brindisi, the championship will move to Klaipėda, Lithuania, then return to San Nazzaro, Italy, followed by the penultimate round in Peso da Régua, Portugal, before concluding in Vila Velha, Portugal.
