A Tough Start for Team Abu Dhabi in the Formula 2 Season Opener

Brindisi, Italy – June 29, 2025: The opening round of the UIM F2 World Championship concluded in Brindisi, Italy, following a weekend of unpredictable weather and intense competition. The race was marked by a dramatic incident on the final lap involving Team Abu Dhabi’s driver Mansoor Al Mansoori and Monaco’s Giacomo Sacchi.

Challenging weather conditions, including strong winds and high waves, caused repeated schedule adjustments throughout the three-day event — from free practice to qualifying and the main race — impacting the stability of the boats and the drivers' morale.

Team Abu Dhabi struggled to secure top positions and walked away from the round with no impact on the championship standings — a result that does not reflect the team’s ambitions or its distinguished legacy in the sport.

Meanwhile, Sharjah Team’s driver An. Solvang managed to maintain third place for most of the race but was overtaken in the final laps, eventually finishing fourth.

Despite the tough start, Team Abu Dhabi remains confident and focused on bouncing back in the upcoming rounds, with the championship journey still in its early stages.
