Abu Dhabi Formula 2 Powerboat Team Seeks Redemption in Klaipeda Round After Brindisi Setback

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 9 July 2025: The Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team is preparing to compete in the second round of the UIM F2 World Championship, which will take place in Klaipeda, Lithuania, from 18 to 20 July, with strong ambitions to correct course and recover from the setback suffered in the season-opening round in Brindisi, Italy.

The opening round was marked by dramatic incidents, most notably a last-lap crash involving driver Mansoor Al Mansoori, which denied him a better result despite a solid performance. His teammate, Rashed Al Qemzi, finished outside the points, a result that cast a shadow over the team’s debut as they entered the season as defending world champions.

The team, representing the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, hopes Klaipeda will be a true turning point in its title defense journey—especially with fierce competition expected from more than 20 elite drivers from around the world.

Team officials have emphasized that their focus is on correcting mistakes and improving coordination between drivers and technicians, underlining the strong support from the management and the confidence in their world-class racers who have previously secured multiple global titles.

Lithuania remains a key stop in the championship calendar, with Klaipeda’s waters known for their unpredictable weather and fast currents, making the race a double challenge that demands skill and precision.

Fueled by determination, the Abu Dhabi Team heads into the second round with its sights firmly set on the podium, aiming to restore the confidence and dominance that have long defined its legacy. The journey is just beginning, but for this champion team, only victory is acceptable.
