Abu Dhabi, UAE, 14 August 2025: Team Abu Dhabi, under the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, has announced the signing of Emirati driver Salem Al Yafei to compete in the UIM F2 World Championship. Al Yafei previously raced with the team in the Formula 4 category during past seasons.

The selection of Al Yafei comes as part of the team’s strategy to strengthen its line-up with experienced competitors on the world stage. With an impressive record in Formula 4 racing, he brings the ability to quickly adapt to the demands of the Formula 2 class and challenge for top positions.

Nasser Al Dhaheri, Director of Marine Sports, extended his gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Board, for his continued support of Team Abu Dhabi’s sporting journey. He emphasized that Al Yafei’s move to Formula 2 is part of a technical plan aimed at boosting the team’s strength in the category while offering drivers new experiences and opportunities to refine their skills on diverse circuits in preparation for the future.

Al Yafei is set to make his Formula 2 debut in the upcoming World Championship round in San Nazzaro, Italy, taking place from 29 to 31 August, alongside teammate Rashed Al Qemzi.

He will also undertake a special two-day training camp in Italy starting Friday, 16 August, to prepare and fine-tune his performance ahead of the next round of the UIM F2 World Championship.
