San Nazzaro, Italy – September 2, 2025: The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) has cancelled the main race of the third round of the Formula 2 World Powerboat Championship, which was scheduled to take place on the River Po in the Italian city of San Nazzaro. The decision came due to strong water currents and the accumulation of debris, which posed a serious safety risk to the competitors.

Despite the cancellation, Team Abu Dhabi asserted its strong presence during the qualifying time trials. Star driver Rashed Al Qemzi secured second place, which would have earned him a front-row start had the main race gone ahead. Meanwhile, his teammate, Salem Al Remeithi, marked a solid debut by finishing eleventh in the qualifiers — a promising result that reflects the team’s readiness to compete for a podium finish.

The team’s technical staff affirmed that these results provide a significant boost in confidence and ambition ahead of the upcoming rounds, stressing that Team Abu Dhabi will continue its steady journey to maintain its status among the world’s elite teams.

Rounds four and five of the championship are scheduled to be held later in September in Portugal.
