Organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club: "Al-Hadi" crowned champion of the Ghantoot Dhow Sailboats Race.

UAE, Abu Dhabi, 20 September 2025: The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club concluded the Ghantoot Dhow Sailboats Race held today as part of this season’s traditional races agenda, with wide participation from captains and sailors in distinctive maritime conditions that reflected the depth of Emirati heritage and the spirit of competition.
The race results saw the dhow “Al-Hadi” win first place, owned and captained by Abdullah Sabah Mohammed Al Rumaithi. The second place went to the dhow “Al-Za’im”, owned by Obeid Juma Al Rumaithi and captained by Ibrahim Jassim Ahmed Al Mehairi, while the dhow “Namran” took third place.
The organizing committee confirmed that the race witnessed high levels of competition among participants alongside full adherence to the approved technical procedures and organizational standards, reflecting the status of traditional marine races as a fundamental pillar for preserving maritime heritage and safeguarding national identity.
The winners were honored by Khalifa Al Rumaithi, Head of Traditional Races Department at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club; Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Head of the Academy Department; and Saif Juma Al Hosani, Director of Government Relations at ADNOC.
At the conclusion of the race, the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club expressed its gratitude to ADNOC, the club’s strategic partner, for its continuous support and ongoing sponsorship of traditional and modern marine sports, contributing to the success of events and highlighting the UAE’s position on the global sports stage.
