Italy, Venice – September 20, 2025: Abu Dhabi’s Powerboat Team is making a remarkable presence at the Genoa International Boat Show, one of the world’s most prestigious and longstanding marine exhibitions. The event runs from September 18 to 23 in Genoa, Italy, featuring leading companies and brands in the boat, yacht, and marine equipment industries.

At the global marine giant Mercury’s pavilion, the team is showcasing their historic powerboat, which set a new record in the Pavia–Venice Raid race. The boat was expertly piloted by Guido Capalini, the team’s technical director and coach, who led the craft to this world-class achievement, etching the names of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in the record books.

This appearance draws special attention by combining high-performance sportsmanship with the technical expertise of Capalini, alongside a successful partnership with Mercury, one of the largest marine engine manufacturers worldwide. The boat has become an iconic symbol of Emirati leadership in the field of marine sports.

The Genoa International Boat Show attracts annually over 120,000 visitors across more than 200,000 square meters of exhibition space, featuring hundreds of exhibitors from around the globe showcasing the latest innovations and technologies in boats, yachts, and marine equipment.

Thani Al Qamzi, Director of Abu Dhabi Powerboat Teams, affirmed that displaying the powerboat at this global event reflects the team’s prestigious international standing and highlights the value of the accomplishments achieved over the years. He emphasized that the Pavia–Venice Raid record remains a shining milestone in the team’s illustrious history.
