Team Abu Dhabi secures its starting position for the final round of the UIM F1H2O World Championship

Sharjah, Saturday, 20 December 2025: Team Abu Dhabi will compete tomorrow, Sunday, in the final round of the UIM F1H2O World Championship, hosted by the Emirate of Sharjah on Khalid Lagoon, following a competitive day that featured official qualifying sessions and the Sprint race.

Swedish driver Erik Stark will lead Abu Dhabi Boat No. 6 in the main race after securing fourth position on the starting grid, following his participation in all three qualifying stages held today, confirming his readiness for the decisive final race of the 2025 season.

This morning’s program included the best-lap qualifying format to determine the starting order for tomorrow’s main race. Team Abu Dhabi’s driver recorded the following results:

In Qualifying Session 1, contested by 20 boats, Erik Stark finished sixth with a time of 50.14 seconds, securing qualification to the second session.

In Qualifying Session 2, featuring 12 boats, Stark delivered a strong performance to finish second with a time of 48.05 seconds, confirming his position among the leading contenders.

In Qualifying Session 3, limited to the top six drivers, Stark completed the session in fourth place with a time of 47.61 seconds. The result was affected by insufficient fuel, officially placing him fourth on the starting grid for tomorrow’s race.

Meanwhile, the Sprint race took place this evening, awarding additional points toward the overall championship standings. Team Abu Dhabi’s driver started from second position, but dropped back from the opening lap and ultimately finished fourth. The team focused during the Sprint race on collecting technical data and optimizing preparations for the main race, which concludes a demanding and highly competitive season.

Sprint Results and Teams’ Championship Decided

The second Sprint race was won by American driver Shaun Torrente, driving for Victory Team, strengthening his lead in the Drivers’ World Championship standings with a total of 99 points. Victory Team also officially secured the Teams’ World Championship title for the first time in its history, accumulating 177 points, ahead of tomorrow’s final round.
