Abu Dhabi, 18 December 2025: The Organising Committee of the Al Yasat Festival has announced the launch of the Al Qaffai Race for 22-foot Sailing Dhows, scheduled to take place next Sunday, as part of the accompanying sports events of the festival. The race is organised by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.

In a statement issued today, the Organising Committee confirmed that setting the race date comes within the framework of early preparations aimed at ensuring the highest standards of organisation and safety, while also providing participants with sufficient time for technical and logistical readiness. This approach contributes to delivering the race in a manner that reflects the stature of the Al Yasat Festival as one of the UAE’s leading heritage and sports festivals.

The Committee further noted that the Al Yasat Festival offers a diverse programme of heritage and sporting activities that blend authenticity with competition, attracting wide interest from both the public and participants, in support of preserving and promoting the UAE’s rich maritime heritage.
