Friday, 30 Jan 2026 : The People of Determination Marine Sports Festival concluded in Abu Dhabi. The festival was organized by Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, with the participation of 60 male and female athletes who competed in kayak races and unified sailing, in a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of community inclusion and ongoing support for inclusive sports.

The festival also saw the participation of a number of schools from across the UAE, as part of efforts to enhance the involvement of People of Determination in marine sports events, reinforce the values of inclusivity and equality, and provide opportunities for them to practice sports in a safe and motivating environment—aligned with the UAE’s national vision for supporting and empowering People of Determination across various sectors.

As part of the festival’s accompanying program, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club organized a sightseeing tour to several of Abu Dhabi’s prominent landmarks, with the participation of a delegation from Fazy Vacations and Sports Association for People of Determination from Lyon, reflecting the humanitarian and cultural dimension of the event and contributing to the promotion of community exchange and cultural openness.

The awards ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Mubarak Al Ameri, Board Member of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club; Mr. Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination; and Mr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club Academy. They honored the participants and winners, praising the outstanding organization and the high level of commitment demonstrated by the athletes throughout the competitions.

Attendees emphasized the importance of such events in strengthening community participation and promoting sport as a way of life, in addition to highlighting marine sports as a key component of sporting activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. They also noted the organizers’ commitment to delivering inclusive sports programs and events that meet the needs of all segments of society.

The organization of the People of Determination Marine Sports Festival comes as part of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club’s ongoing efforts to support community initiatives, promote a culture of sport for all, and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading capital for hosting diverse and inclusive sporting events.
