Abu Dhabi F1 Powerboat Teams unveils the schedule for the international trials in Italy

UAE, Abu Dhabi, April 22, 2026: The Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team has announced the adoption of the timeline for the final international testing program in preparation for participating in the first round of the Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship in Italy next month.
In a statement released today, the team revealed that the trials will take place in Italy from May 18 to 27, leading up to the first round, which will be held over three days from May 29 to 31.
Jumaa Al Qubaisi, the team's technical supervisor, confirmed that the three racers – Rashid Al Qemzi, Jonas Andersson, and Erik Stark – face a new challenge to compete for the best results, drawing on their extensive experience in world championships and past achievements. He noted that the initial preparations in Abu Dhabi showed promising indicators with the boats. He also highlighted the critical role of the "radio man" during the race, who monitors every small and large detail as well as the race proceedings.
He further emphasized that the various sports activities at the club have achieved significant leaps and solid successes, supported by Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.
Meanwhile, Majid Al Mansouri, Assistant Manager of the Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team, pointed out the importance of the international trials in Italy and their great value in confirming the final stage of preparations before the first round. He explained that the trials are also crucial for assessing the performance of the new boats alongside the racers, including their speed and readiness.
