Dubai, June 7, 2023: Sports officials in the Emirates confirmed that the decision of the Council of Ministers headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to adopt the National Strategy for Sports 2031, represents an integrated work system in line with The future directions of the country, to enhance the vision of the UAE to achieve its global leadership in sports, in line with the comprehensive vision adopted by the government.
The officials welcomed the implementation of the mandates included in the national strategy, the keenness to enhance the importance of sport, and the preparation of initiatives that achieve national achievements in various fields, mainly since sport consolidates the soft power of the state, to highlight its leadership, achieve comprehensive and sustainable development, and build and develop the capabilities of different generations.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Marine Sports Federation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, said: "The National Sports Strategy 2031 places upon us a great responsibility, to achieve the vision of our wise leadership, for sport to become a pillar for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development, and for building generations to keep pace with the future, and raising the flags of the state in external forums."
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan stated that the new strategic directions must represent the basis for sports development through a promising sector that has the ability and vision to achieve the declared goals and great confidence in the ability to implement this strategy, with its hopes and aspirations, to enhance the development process. and development in the UAE, according to best practices.
He pointed out that it is based on essential axes and paths in the field of community sports to raise the proportions of community members who practice sports, in addition to the axis of competitiveness, development, and quality of health.
Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the Billiards and Snooker Federation, praised the decision to adopt the National Sports Strategy 2031, indicating that it represents a new stage in the civilized construction of the UAE on the human and societal levels.
He stressed that the directives of the Council of Ministers today, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reflect the UAE's strategy to improve the health and safety of society and reach the number of sports practitioners to 70% of the population, as this is a true embodiment of the value of a healthy community capable of production and giving.
He added, "The next stage requires the concerted efforts of all bodies, institutions, eight and sports federations in the country to implement the strategy in the best way and achieve its goals during the next eight years."
Major General / M / Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razooqi, President of the UAE and Asian Federations, Vice President of the International Karate Federation, considered that the Council of Minister's approval of the National Strategy for Sport 2031 is a platform for all sports federations for the coming period to promote UAE sports and create a healthy society capable of giving.
