Al-Qamzi enters a camp in Italy in preparation for the Macon round of the Formula 1 World Championship

Abu Dhabi, June 21, 2023: Emirati star Thani Al Qamzi, champion of the Abu Dhabi powerboat team, is preparing to participate in the third round of the Formula 1 World Championship, which will be held on the first and second of next July in the French city of Macon, hoping to retain the title, as the Emirati team is the title holder—last season.
The oldest Emirati Formula 1 racer is preparing to take on this challenge in the journey of competition for the individual championship title that he has been aspiring to achieve for more than twenty years.
Thani Al-Qamzi starts entering the tournament atmosphere early by leaving tomorrow for Italy to enter a two-day training camp before moving to Macon in France and entering the details of the third rounds of the World Championship.
Last season macon city witnessed a victory for the Abu Dhabi team for the championship title for the ninth time in its history, in addition to achieving titles of best team speed through Thani Al Qamzi and Shaun Torrente.
The 2023 championship season started with the first round in Indonesia last February, which witnessed unusual weather fluctuations. It continued with the second round in China last May, in which Thani Al Qamzi did not participate.
Al-Qamzi affirmed his entire readiness to compete in the next round, which will be decisive in competing for the title this season, especially since the past rounds witnessed important bleeding of points in the competition for the title.
Al-Qamzi said, "While I am striving to score my first individual title in the tournament, I will also work with my colleague Sean Torrente to defend the title that the team achieved last season and the gains that we have made throughout history in the tournament."
He confirmed his entry into a training camp in Italy on June 24 and 25 in San Nazzaro, where competitors Shawn Torrente and Rashid Al Qamzi will join the team camp.

He said, "The preparation and equipment will be on a track close to the race track in Macon, with the same dimensions and curves, and we will work to raise fitness before entering the races for this round."
Swedish racer Jonas Anderson leads the general standings before the tournament's third round with 23 points. In comparison, Shaun Torrente is in fourth place with 17 points, and Thani Al-Qamzi is in ninth place with 7 points, which is the position that Al-Qamzi hopes to change through this round.
